Father Herr's appointment as advisor to the Court

Herr contributed his expertise to many local, state, and national organizations. He was on the Advisory Committee to the Chief Justice of the Municipal Court of Chicago for the Social Services Department and Psychiatric Institute. Herr served as the Chair of the Committee on Standards for Psychologists in Illinois State Services and as Consultant to the Midwest Region of the Veterans Administration Clinical Training Program in Psychology. He was a founder member of the Academy of Religion and Mental Health and helped to form a local chapter of the national organization. Herr was a founding member of the American Catholic Psychological Association and served as their President in 1954-1955. In addition, Herr served as an officer for the Chicago Psychological Association and the Illinois Psychological Association.
