Facilities constructed since 1962 include Damen Hall, a 10-story science classroom building, and Pere Marquette Center, a combination student union and classroom facility.

Early in 1969, an addition was completed for the Elizabeth M. Cudahy Library at Lake Shore campus, and the five story Julia Deal Lewis Library was contructed in Lewis Towers.

Other new buildings include the James J. Mertz 19-story residence hall, and the Loyola Centennial Forum, a campus center completed in 1969.

The new Kathleen Mullady Memorial Theatre featured its first production in May, 1969, and has given an added dimension to the theatre life of Chicago.

Another major accomplishment completed under Father Maguire has been the move of Loyola's medical and dental schools to a 61.7 acre campus at Maywood, Illinois.

The $50-million Loyola University Medical Center includes the Stritch School of Medicine, the 451-bed university teaching hospital, the ambulatory patient care center, the dental school and clinic.

The new medical school facilities have been in operation since January, 1968. The 451-bed teaching hospital began operating in May, 1969.

The new $9.3 million School of Dentistry and Clinic began operation in the summer of 1969. Loyola University's Medical Center - together with the adjoining Hines VeteransAdministration Hospital and the State of Illinois John Madden Zone Center - a Mental Health Clinic and hospital - is a distinctive new medical center for the Midwest.
