President, 1915-1921

Father Furay became the fourteenth president of Loyola. His administration saw the admission of women students to additional programs at the university. Under his direction, Loyola purchased the site on Wolcott Avenue, which became the home of the School of Medicine for more than forty years. When Father Furay completed his term of office in 1921, Loyola had more than 2,000 students. He was then appointed by Cardinal Mundelein to head the faculty at the seminary of St. Mary on the Lake.
