Thomas H. Miles, S.J. (1831-1909)
President, 1877-1880
Father Miles succeeded Father DeBlieck as president, serving from 1877 to 1880 afterwich he became rector of Creighton University, Omaha. A man of gentle and charitable nature, Father Miles also spent 18 years as the spiritual director of the St. Louis University Community.He was born in Bardstown, Kentucky, in 1831 and died on May 29, 1909.
