Volleyball
1973 was a big year for women's sports at Loyola. Not only was the first women's basketball team established, but Loyola also saw its first women's volleyball team as well. That year, the volleyball team only competed once against Northwestern, as the team was late in organizing for the fall season.
The following year, 1974 -1975, Loyola women's volleyball had its first official full season. Under the leadership of head coach Paula Hild, the team had many wins in their first few seasons against local schools including Northwestern, University of Chicago, Mundelein College and North Park College.
In the program's history, the women's volleyball team has made five NCAA Tournament Appearances: 1995, 1999, 2000, 2004, & 2005.
